HLL Lifecare Limited (HLL) is an Indian healthcare product manufacturing company based in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. It is a Government of India-owned corporation.
HLL was incorporated on 1 March 1966 as Hindustan Latex Limited (HLL) under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The company was set up to manufacture condoms at affordable rates. Kerala being abundant in rubber came as a natural choice for setting up the facility.
In 1976, HLL diversified into the manufacturing of other healthcare products, such as oral rehydration salts, blood transfusion equipment, and wound care products. In 1988, the company was renamed HLL Lifecare Limited to reflect its wider range of products.
Today, HLL is India's leading manufacturer and marketer of contraceptives, healthcare, and pharma products & services. The company has seven manufacturing units and marketing offices throughout the country.
HLL's products are sold under a variety of brands, including Moods (condoms), Happy Days (sanitary napkins), Rehydrate (oral rehydration salts), and CutiCare (wound care products).
HLL is committed to providing affordable and quality healthcare products to the people of India. The company is also involved in a number of social welfare initiatives, such as the distribution of condoms and sanitary napkins to the underprivileged.
The current chairman and managing director of HLL is Beji George, IRTS.
