Qualification
Senior Resident is one who is doing his residency in the concerned department after obtaining Medical Postgraduate degree (MD/MS/DNB). Non-medical Postgraduates with MSc (Medical) degree shall be called Tutors in whichever departments they are working. The posts of Senior Resident and Tutor are tenure positions not exceeding 3 years. The graduate must be below 45 years of age at the time of initial appointment.

Instructions
1. Senior Resident – The tenure of 3 years for Senior Residents is subject to satisfactory performance evaluation on annual basis. No extension beyond 3 years of the tenure. 2. Candidates who have worked already as a Senior Resident under 3 years Central Residency Scheme for 3 years are not eligible for applying for the post of Senior Resident. Senior Resident who are already working in any Govt. institution/ Hospital shall apply through proper channel. The total period however, should not exceed the maximum period of 3 Years. 3. Remuneration:- Initial Pay in Level -11 with basic pay of Rs. 67,700/- plus other allowances as applicable under 7th CPC. Private practice of any kind will not be allowed. Total Gross Emoluments drawn by a Senior Resident for the month of August 2023 is Rs. 1, 43, 864/- (approximately) and this remuneration will be revised whenever there is revision of rates of DA as per ESIC Hqrs. Office which is line with the Central Government Employees. 4. Senior Resident (3 years tenure) will be eligible for kinds of leave as admissible to temporary government employees in accordance with the provisions of CCS (Leave) Rules 1972. 5. Rules for Reservation will be implemented as per Govt. of India instructions. 6. The engagement shall not confer any right or preference for regular appointment. 7. No claim for any service benefits like PF, Pension, Gratuity, Medical allowances, Medical benefits, Seniority, Promotion etc. will be admissible 8. Candidate must be registered with State Medical Council/NMC as applicable, before joining the post. 9. Candidate in the Government Service should submit “No Objection Certificate from the employer at the time of Interview. 10. The candidates who are already employed must produce relieving order from the previous employer at the time of joining / NOC for taking up engagement with ESIC. 11. No TA/DA will be admissible for interview or joining. 12. ESI Corporation may increase or decrease or cancel filling up of any or all posts without assigning any reason at the discretion of the Appointing Authority. 13. Candidates applying in OBC/SC/ST/EWS/PWD Category must possess the certificate issued by competent authority, valid for admission/ job in Central Govt. Institutions issued before the date of interview, failing which he/she shall not be allowed to appear in interview for the reserved category. However, he/she can be treated as UR Candidate. 14. The candidates claiming reservation on grounds of belonging to OBC non-creamy layer should submit the community certificate in Annexure “A” prescribed vide Govt. of India, Department of Personnel and Training O.M No. 36036/2/2013-Estt (Res) dated 30.05.2014 failing which the benefits of reservation will not be given and their application shall be rejected and no request /correspondence will be entertained. Certificate issued in other formats will not be accepted and the candidature will be treated as “General Category” for all purposes. 15. The candidates appointed under PWD quota will be adjusted against the vacancy of respective categories of SC/ST/OBC and UR quota. The disability certificate should be issued by a duly constituted and authorized Medical Board of the State or Central Government Hospitals/Institutions. 16. The DEAN has the discretion to increase/decrease the number of vacancies depending on actual requirement or to cancel this recruitment or to withdraw offer of appointment. 17. The Senior Resident so selected will be required to submit acceptance/consent letter in writing before appearing for medical examination. 18. The doctors at any time found guilty of any gross misconduct or negligence of his/her duties shall be terminated without any notice or payment in lieu of the notice period. 19. The absence from work for a period of fifteen days without proper permission of the competent authority will amount to voluntary abandonment of engagement and automatic termination. The Medical Officers are required to mark attendance manually as well as on Aadhar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) daily during scheduled working days. 20. They will also be required to attend emergency, floor duty and other clinical duty as assigned by the Competent Authority. 21. They will also be required to perform duties in other departments as assigned by the competent authority. 22. Selected candidates will have to join duty on or before the date indicated in the offer of appointment/engagement likely to be issued. 23. The Senior Resident so engaged will be required to enter into a contractual agreement for the purpose on a stamp paper of Rs.100/-. 24. The Selected Senior Resident candidates have to deposit security amount of Rs.15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand) in favour of ESI Fund A/C No. 1 payable at State Bank of India, Ashok Nagar, Chennai-78 and produce the demand draft at the time of joining. However, this amount will be appropriated towards administrative cost in case, the candidate resigns/terminates his/her contract before completion of his/her tenure. The contract is liable to be terminated at any time without assigning any reason thereof after giving one month’s notice on either side or on payment of one month’s emoluments in lieu thereof. 25. Candidates are permitted to apply for only one post at a time. (with an exception for Emergency Medicine and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation). However, separate application form along with Demand Draft should be enclosed. 26. EWS candidate appearing for the post must have EWS certificate as per Govt. prescribed format and valid on the date of interview
